UK employment has reached record levels with 30.9 million in work, while the number of job vacancies hit a record high of almost 720,000. Figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that the number of working women is also at a record high, and unemployment has fallen to its lowest rate, 5.7%, since May to July 2008.
